PE Curriculum

Welcome to QAE PE! The PE program’s mission is to foster a lifelong love for physical activity, healthy lifestyle choices, and wellness. The program is committed to state endorsed Health and Physical Education standards: Establishing a physical education program that is developmentally appropriate, student centered and inclusive, while providing a variety of movement options for learning, leisure, and life. Students learn about their health content through movement-based games and activities. Fitness assessments are supported through goal setting and monitoring growth in each assessment. Through manipulative and sports skills-based games, self-esteem, perseverance and sportsmanship are learned and practiced. Through the Positive Discipline framework that QAE uses, I work hard to foster integrity and celebrate our differences in a safe, inclusive, fun environment for individuals to learn and grow throughout their PE career.

Seattle Public Schools adopted the Five for Life curriculum for Physical Education. This curriculum stresses the 5 components of Fitness: Cardiorespiratory Endurance, Flexibility, Muscular Endurance, Muscular Strength and Body Composition.
