PE Curriculum
Welcome to QAE PE! The PE program’s mission is to foster a lifelong love for physical activity, healthy lifestyle choices, and wellness. The program is committed to state endorsed Health and Physical Education standards: Establishing a physical education program that is developmentally appropriate, student centered and inclusive, while providing a variety of movement options for learning, leisure, and life. Students learn about their health content through movement-based games and activities. Fitness assessments are supported through goal setting and monitoring growth in each assessment. Through manipulative and sports skills-based games, self-esteem, perseverance and sportsmanship are learned and practiced. Through the Positive Discipline framework that QAE uses, I work hard to foster integrity and celebrate our differences in a safe, inclusive, fun environment for individuals to learn and grow throughout their PE career.

Seattle Public Schools adopted the Five for Life curriculum for Physical Education. This curriculum stresses the 5 components of Fitness: Cardiorespiratory Endurance, Flexibility, Muscular Endurance, Muscular Strength and Body Composition. All the students learn about these concepts through fun PE games and activities. For information regarding Washington State Health and Physical Education Standards.
