The goal of enrichment is to include a variety of class types to meet the interests of students, with offerings for all grade levels. Most classes are tuition-based; all have scholarships available.

All enrichment program classes take place on Wednesday after school. This session QAE is excited to announce that we are offering the following programs:

Green Team by Gather in the Garden
The connection between humans and our Earth are never ending. Each Wednesday after school, we'll be gathering with your child and other students in our school community to help our young people turn their innate knowledge of the world around us into real experiences. Adventures through basic earth science, energy, growing cycles and community stewardship concepts will be the focus. New this year an introduction to hydroponics and our driving questions, "How do we become a Green School" will be explored. All life cycles begin with plants. We'll ask important questions like how does this knowledge relate to our nutrient sources? Where does our food come from and can we grow our own if we wanted to? All of these questions will be explored throughout the year. Outside place-based learning will take place as we get to know the trees (flora) and the urban wildlife (fauna) we share with them. What signs of the seasons do we see and what are they telling us or other living organisms. Walking field trips to nearby parks will be involved.

    Maker Mania
Get crafty with Seattle ReCreatives! Using recycled materials, we will make art, think creatively, and problem solve. Each week will feature a different material and activity to inspire your child's imagination. From Popsicle sticks to bottle caps, from fabric to cardboard, the creative possibilities are endless! We will be using low-heat glue guns in this class.

    Jedi Engineering with LEGO Materials
The Force Awakens in this introductory engineering course the young Jedi! Explore engineering principles by designing and building projects using LEGO materials such as X-Wings, R2 Units, Energy Catapults, Defense Turrets and Settlements from a galaxy far, far away. Create motorized and architectural projects with imagination and engineering to defeat the Empire!

Mixed Media Arts with Kids Create
In this weekly after school art series, students will explore a variety of art materials and processes. Each session features a different theme/series of projects.
