Seattle Public Schools LogoJump Start Welcomes Kindergartners!
    August 19 – 23, 2019 9 am – 12 pm daily

Jump Start is a FREE week-long experience for kindergartners to learn about school. Children will get to know their new school building and staff, and practice typical school day activities.

    Jump Start helps new kindergartners:
    • Experience joyful learning
    • Learn and practice school routines
    • Become comfortable in the classroom and school building

    Jump Start helps families:
    • Get to know other families with same-age children
    • Meet the principal and staff and ask questions
    Jump Start helps staff:
    • Begin building relationships with students
    • Learn about students’ skills and strengths

    JUMP START
Most Seattle elementary and K-8s offer Jump Start. Children must be assigned to a participating school (not on a waitlist) to attend Jump Start there.
    • Schools will offer bilingual help to English language learners and extra support to children with special needs.
    • Families are asked to drop off and pick up children each day or arrange this with childcare.
    • All schools will provide a snack and some will provide free lunch. Your school will let you know anything your child should bring to Jump Start.

Register for Jump Start – by June 20th*
The Jump Start registration form is posted on the Seattle Schools’ Jump Start page. Once you have received your school assignment, please submit a Jump Start registration form directly to your school (see school directory for address) or email to: jumpstart@seattleschools.org. If your child has special needs or health concerns, please contact your school as soon as possible to set up plans.

*Note: All children at participating schools are welcome, even if registering after 6/20. Questions? Call Mary at (206) 252-0217.
